Desecration of the U.S. flag

There should be an amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibiting desecration of the U.S. flag. The flag represents us as a United States, and that bears everything from our rights to our pride in our country. To burn our flag is total disrespect to everyone who believes in liberty and justice in the U.S., and disrespect to the people who have fought as well as died for your right to freedom of speech which allows you to desecrate the flag.

Disrespect is the word that comes to my mind when I think of our flag being burned and I definitely agree with your posting.

In the case of Texas v. Johnson, Johnson was not burning the flag because he hates America. He was burning it as a symbol the presidency at that time. He was burning it "for" America and because he thought that there was something wrong with how things were being run.
